Our 2021 annual Seed Sale will be Saturday, June 26th, 8:30-11:00am! This coincides with a late morning low tide that will be good for planting.
We will be implementing the same protocol as our seed sale pickup in 2020 making sure we are all safe and practice social distancing.
Seed Sale Location: Puget Sound Restoration Fund office, 8001 NE Day Road W., Bainbridge Island. We will host our pick-up sales in the same drive-thru format that we did last summer. Pick-up was efficient, and we want to continue to ensure safety for both you and our staff. To keep the wait time to a minimum, we will email you an assigned time slot for pick-up. **All seed must be picked up at the seed sale as PSRF cannot be responsible for holding seed.**
More than ever, your PRE-ORDER is essential! Click HERE for a PDF of our order form. You can also order online (see below for detailed instructions). The deadline for all pre-orders is June 10, 2021.
Good news this year! We have triploid Pacific oyster seed (i.e., non-spawning) and a limited amount of Kumamoto seed! Oyster seed is sold by weight – a 1-liter bag has approximately 300-400 oysters/bag, depending on size of the oysters.
On the order form, please be sure to specify the location where your oyster, clam or mussel seed will actually be planted (either the street address or parcel/lot number). We ask this for good reason. When you purchase seed from PSRF, you will be covered under our transfer permit from Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife and, therefore, we can give your seed a clean bill of health. All of the seed that we provide is purchased from a State-certified source (Taylor Shellfish), which means it is disease-free. Seed should not be purchased from uncertified sources, such as your grocery store, or from out-of-state and put out on the beach. That seed could inadvertently cause problems, such as introducing disease into our local waters.
We must receive your orders by June 10th, 2021. We will only be accepting pre-orders & pre-payment, so plan ahead! If you have any questions, please feel free to call Wendy Welch at 206.550.8667 or email [email protected].
We look forward to seeing you!
