Fall 2025 Kelp Art Exhibit

Experience Kelp! Reverberations at the San Juan Islands Museum of Art

PSRF invites you to immerse yourself in Kelp! Reverberations, an evocative new exhibit at the San Juan Islands Museum of Art that brings together visionary artists and scientists in celebration of the rich ecology and beauty of the kelp forest.

Opening September 26, this interdisciplinary exhibition features:

Sculptural forms crafted from locally foraged bull kelp by PSRF Founder and Director Emeritus Betsy Peabody,

A maze of deep blue and turquoise cyanotype banners by artist and author Josie Iselin, and

A spatialized soundscape evoking the underwater world of kelp, created by sound designer Ken Pearce in collaboration with Canadian composer and sound artist Jonathan Kawchuk, delivered through an innovative soundframe system.

This unique collaboration invites audiences to see, hear, and feel the dynamic life of underwater forests through art, science, and sensory exploration.

Sponsored by Above/Below, Puget Sound Restoration Fund, and Washington Sea Grant, the exhibit runs from September 26 – December 1, 2025. For full details, visit San Juan Islands Museum of Art at www.sjima.org.

2025 Oyster New Year

Tickets On Sale Now!

Come get swept up in the celebration of Northwest oysters at this year’s Oyster New Year! This not-to-be-missed event, hosted by Elliott’s Oyster House, includes 30+ varieties of local oysters shucked to order, a fresh seafood buffet, live music, and more! Tickets available online HERE. Get yours before they sell out!

We ring in Oyster New Year on Saturday, November 8, 2025 from 6-9 pm (VIP early access at 4 pm), to celebrate the annual return of the peak shellfish season. As the cloudy, cool fall weather returns to Puget Sound, the icy north Pacific Ocean current entices shellfish into their prime, creating a crisp, firm texture and clean taste characteristics.

A portion of the proceeds benefit us here at Puget Sound Restoration Fund, for which are are so grateful.

Spring Palooza 2025!

Thank you to all who joined us at PSRF’s Spring Palooza!

From the top-tier food and drink graciously provided by our long-time partner Elliott’s Oyster House, to connecting with one another about seaweed, art, and restoration, the event was brimming with positivity and joy.

In total, we raised more than $173,000 in support of clean and healthy Washington waters! With a ton of great work on the horizon, this support will provide huge lift across our programs restoring native oysters, abalone, kelp and more.

Huge thanks to our amazing sponsors and supporters who made this terrific evening possible.
